FOP Legislative News

March 30, 2020

National President Patrick Yoes, Executive Director Jim Pasco and Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson participated in the Public Safety Stakeholders meeting with Hope Janke, Director of the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) program, to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the program. The FOP strongly urged that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) should issue an order to find that contraction of the virus by a law enforcement or other public safety officer should be presumed to be in the line of duty for the purposes of death benefit claims.
